The Importance Of Sending Someone A Gesture

May 24, 2019

There is a saying that goes, "A small gesture can have a big impact".  Well, the majority of the time when you think of preforming a gesture of some kind for someone, a lot of the time we do it as an act of a “necessary act”. In this sense, it’s more of "here you go I got this for you, hope you like it”, no real thought about it. Though technically there is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach because yes you are technically still doing something for someone, but what it lacks is the emotion-evoking feeling behind it.

Of course, when you go back and think of the quote from earlier, you’d rationalize that it’s ridiculous to think that a small thing like a little gesture or gift every once in a while to another individual would really make a big difference. That's where you are wrong. When a gesture is given with meaningful thoughts and emotion behind them, that  simple gesture can and will really make a positive impact in someone’s day or even their entire life.

Take someone you know is having a tough time in their life at the moment. They feel isolated in their issues and it’s making for a tough time to see the joy in anything. You by sending a small gesture, reminds your friend that you are there for them with a comforting package, or even just a little pick me up. Your small gift opened up their heart just enough to brighten their day.

Basically what we are trying to say is, sending something as small as a bottle of wine or a beautiful bouquet of flowers just lets them know that "hey, you were on my mid today" or maybe it'll send the message of, things can and will get better.

The importance of sending someone a gesture isn’t always about how you can make someone else’s day better. It is also a great learning experience for the receiver to take this moment and want to spread it to those around them as well.

While it feels good to be on the receiving end, there’s a feeling of self-gratification when you are the one who is doing the giving. This act cannot be measured by any monetary value. The feeling of happiness you get from opening a gift is only temporary, but giving back to others provides a more self-fulfilling experience that lasts for a lifetime.

So go ahead and send a gesture to someone who needs it, it could inspire a chain reaction of sending happiness all around you.
